The eclipse viewing site is has been selected for incredible 360 degree views, on a high plateau above the iconic Mississippi River valley. Ste. Genevieve is located on the Center Line of the 2017 total solar eclipse that is being called the “eclipse of a generation!”  Our area will darken on Monday, August 21st, from approximately 11:30 am to 2:30 pm with the maximum totality occurring shortly after 1:15 pm.  The Solar Eclipse public viewing location will be adjacent to the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center with reserved parking nearby.  Enjoy entertainment, food venues, science and art exhibits celebrating the solar eclipse and


astronomers with filtered telescopes!  Shuttles will be available to bring attendees from reserved off-site parking areas. Activities for the eclipse viewing party on Monday run from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm.

Planned events also include a music festival on Sunday, August 20th in Historic Downtown Ste. Genevieve. Enjoy popular musical entertainers performing from 12:00-9:00 pm  and a ‘beer garden’ near the Ste. Genevieve County Courthouse.
